Tata Rias Wajah Sebagai Media Aktualisasi Diri Bagi Mahasiswi
Abstract
The use of makeup applied by female students at the time of college is a mandatory ritual that is done every day, but the practice is not stuck on the rules written in the campus environment (lecture). The use of makeup is part of self-actualization for some female students who apply it. The face seems to be a canvas for each student who then they draw based on the perception they get from the exposure of various media around them. Therefore the researchers conducted this study to determine the motivation and disciplinary processes of the body applied by female students through makeup application to their faces. This research uses qualitative research type. The study included the collection of a wide range of empirical data from research subjects (women students). Then the data is analyzed to gain an understanding of the subject of the study encountered (makeup practice for women students). Through this research the researcher can know the motivation of applying makeup for the student as the differentiation of her with other women student. Through the applied makeup, students also feel more confident when compared to not using.

ABSTRAK
Penggunaan tata rias wajah yang diterapkan oleh mahasiswi pada saat kuliah merupakan ritual wajib yang dilakukan setiap harinya, padahal praktik tersebut tidak tercantun pada aturan tertulis di lingkungan kampus (kuliah). Penggunaan tata rias wajah merupakan bagian dari aktualisasi diri bagi sebagian mahasiswi yang menerapkannya. Wajah seolah menjadi kanvas bagi masing-masing mahasiswi yang kemudian mereka gambar berdasarkan cerapan yang mereka dapatkan dari terpaan berbagai media yang ada di sekitar mereka. Oleh karena itu peneliti melakukan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui motivasi dan proses-proses pendisiplinan tubuh yang diterapkan mahasiswi melalui aplikasi tata rias ke wajah mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian yang meliputi pengumpulan beraneka ragam data empiris dari subjek penelitian (mahasiswi). Kemudian data tersebut dianalisis untuk mendapatkan pemahaman tentang subjek kajian yang dihadapi (praktik tata rias wajah bagi mahasiswi). Melalui penelitian ini peneliti dapat mengetahui motivasi dari penerapan penggunaan tata rias wajah bagi mahasiswi sebagai pembeda dirinya dengan mahasiswi yang lain. Melalui tata rias wajah yang diterapkan, mahasiswi juga merasakan kepercayaan diri lebih tinggi ketika dibandingkan tidak menggunakan.
